Antalya Olive Oil Producers Received Their Awards

Antalya Governorship, was held. The winners of the competition organized to ensure that the city stands out with its high-quality olive oil production, to encourage producers and to strengthen its brand value internationally, received their awards.

Evaluation Made in International Standards

Within the scope of the competition organized with the slogan "The Smell of Gold", chemical analyzes were carried out on 84 olive oil samples. As a result of the analysis, 57 samples were qualified to participate in the sensory analysis stage. Agricultural Potential and Future Planning

Speaking at the program, Governor Hulusi Şahin celebrated World Farmers' Day and emphasized that Antalya is the city that contains the most ancient cities in the world. Stating that Antalya is an important agricultural city as well as its tourism image, Governor Şahin stated that the future should be considered in order to make agriculture sustainable. Referring to the importance of geographical indication and registration studies in order for the products to reach the point they deserve in terms of added value, Governor Şahin noted that every stage from soil to fork should be planned.

After the speeches, the awards were presented to the producers who ranked highest in the competition by the Governor Şahin and the protocol members. After the ceremony, Governor Şahin and his accompanying delegation visited the olive oil stands and received detailed information from the producers about the products and production processes.
