Chickpeas Produced in the Taurus Mountains Will Reach Those in Need

Gazipaşa Municipality Agricultural Services Directorate harvested chickpeas in Cimbiti Plateau at an altitude of 1800 meters within the scope of agricultural activities carried out in order to set an example for local producers and farmers. The products obtained from the 30-decare area located 60 kilometers from the district center are made ready for use after drying and sorting processes. It was reported that some of the harvested products will be added to the aid packages to be distributed to families in need during Ramadan, and some of them will be offered for sale at the festival to be held.

Idle Lands Are Returned to Production

Stating that they aim to encourage agricultural production, Gazipaşa Mayor Mehmet Ali Yılmaz stated that the empty lands in the plateaus have been evaluated for approximately 7 years. Yılmaz stated that they aim to contribute to the promotion of local products and wished for a fruitful harvest season.

Social Aid and Festival Preparation

It was noted that the collected chickpeas were classified after the drying process. It is planned to deliver the yield obtained to those in need in line with social municipal activities and to support the local economy by exhibiting it at the tropical fruit festival to be held in the district.
