European Mobilization for Alanya Avocado

Work continues with the aim of protecting the agricultural values ​​of Alanya, making the labor of the producers more valuable and making local products a world brand. In this context, following the geographical indication registration of Alanya Carob, a European Union (EU) Geographical Indication registration application was made for Alanya Avocado.

Application Ceremony with Broad Participation

Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry Geographical Indications Desk Officer Murat Şahiner, Alanya District Agriculture and Forestry Director İhsan İnal, Alanya Chamber of Agriculture President Tahir Göktepe and Avocado Producers Association President Hilmi Sevilgen attended the application ceremony hosted by Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It was emphasized that all institutions acted with common sense in this process, which is of critical importance for the agricultural future of the city.

It was stated that the process will be carried out in cooperation from now on, as it has been until today. It was noted that all stakeholders of the sector, especially the producers, contributed to the Alanya Avocado reaching its current position. It was stated that inter-institutional consultation will continue with determination in the works carried out to develop the product, protect the labor of the producer and strengthen the brand. It was stated that moves to protect the city's agricultural values and support local production will continue.
