Harvest Joy was Experienced in Alanya Carob

The 2nd Carob Harvest Festival, held in Obaalacami District of Alanya city center, was completed with the intense participation of the district protocol, chamber presidents, representatives of non-governmental organizations and local producers. In the event organized in partnership with Alanya Municipality, Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO), Alanya Chamber of Agriculture and Carob Producers Association, the production processes of the geographically indicated product were examined on site.

Harvested and Molasses Cooked

As part of the festival, participants harvested carob from the branch and experienced the stages of molasses production made with traditional methods. Stands containing value-added products prepared by local producers and obtained from carob were visited by protocol members and guests. The "Heaviest Carob Competition" held within the program witnessed exciting moments among the producers.

Protocol Meeting with Broad Participation

Alanya Deputy Mayor Murat Levent Koçak, Mayor Advisor Nazmi Zavlak, ALTSO Council President Mehmet Kural, Alanya Chamber of Agriculture President Tahir Göktepe, Carob Producers Association President Duran Yılmaz and Obaalacami Headman Şevki Karaduman attended the event. In line with the branding and European Union registration studies carried out under the leadership of Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, the aim of bringing local values to the international market was emphasized.
