New Good News from Mayor Göktepe to Alanya

Alanya Chamber of Agriculture has achieved the first results in salep production, which it started to diversify the product pattern in the district and open alternative income doors for producers. In September 2025, salep tubers, which were brought together with the soil on the economic enterprise land in Kestel District, reached the harvest stage after meticulous maintenance processes carried out by technical teams.

90 Percent Success Achieved

Stating that the technical, cultural and biological maintenance carried out since September has borne fruit, Mayor Göktepe stated that the planted tubers have yielded 90 percent. While salep, which is in the medicinal and aromatic plant class, is aimed to be a breath of fresh air for Alanya agriculture, it was noted that the current development table creates great satisfaction among the producers.

Harvest will be done in mid-May

The middle of May is planned to measure the yield to be obtained from the unit area in the salep production adventure and to share the observations in the process. With the harvest expected to be held around May 15, the economic dimension of production and the technical details encountered will be analyzed. In the light of the data obtained, intermediate production or direct economic production models will be recommended to regional producers for the next season.
