Alarm Bells in Alanya Tourism: Let's Not Lose Our Tomorrow
Speaking at the Alanya City Council meeting, officials warned that the future of tourism should not be endangered for the sake of short-term gains.
Alanya City Council Executive Board met to discuss the current situation and future of city tourism. Tourism Information Office Director İbrahim Saraç attended the meeting chaired by Alanya City Council President Nurhan Özcan as a guest. At the meeting, tourist mobility, price-service balance, urban transportation, cleanliness and tradesman-tourist relations were comprehensively evaluated.
Changing Tourist Expectations
İbrahim Saraç, who stated that the experiences visitors have in the bazaar, transportation and historical areas directly affect the image of the city, emphasized that it would be a mistake to expect the old tourism conditions to return. Expressing that holiday preferences in the world have changed, Saraç said that if today is not managed correctly, tomorrow will be lost and the coming period will not be as easy as previous years.
Emphasis on Common Future
Nurhan Özcan, who said that the city's brand value should not be damaged due to short-term gains and uncontrolled price policies, stated that tourists should be seen as guests, not just sources of income. Özcan reminded that fair prices, cleanliness and quality service are the common responsibility of the entire city and invited everyone to do their part.
