Alanya In the program organized for Traffic Week, little students reminded drivers of traffic rules and drew attention to the importance of social awareness. The event held in Hacet Square; District Police Chief Mustafa Hilmi Özgönül, District Gendarmerie Commander Lieutenant Colonel Hüseyin Direk, Mayor's Advisor Faruk Konukçu, Alanya City Council President Nurhan Özcan, NGO representatives and students attended.
Drivers were reminded of the rules on site
Traffic-themed picture painting activities were held for children in the area, while informative brochures were distributed to citizens. The practices of the little traffic drivers left their mark on the atmosphere enlivened with the treats offered by Alanya Municipality. Accompanied by gendarmerie and police teams, the students went to the field and stopped the drivers and inspected the use of seat belts and helmets. Students thanked the drivers who obey the rules and once again reminded them of the vital importance of traffic safety.
The target is a child-friendly city
Speaking after Alanya Traffic Education Association President Bilge Toksöz, Advisor to the President Konukçu stated that safe traffic education was given to children in 102 neighborhoods. Emphasizing that Alanya is a city with high traffic density, Konukçu said, "We provide safe traffic training to our children together with our teammates. We work in harmony with both the traffic gendarmerie and traffic police friends in the field. We are working to create the infrastructure that will enable a child in a neighborhood to reach his school safely without using the shuttle. We have a dream of making this a child-friendly city."
