A Blow to Criminals on the Streets of Alanya and Antalya

Antalya Provincial Police Department Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch teams kept criminal networks safe with the operations they carried out throughout the province in the last week. In the raids concentrated especially in the districts of Alanya, Kepez and Muratpaşa, both those who made unfair profits and smugglers who threatened public health were targeted.

Arrest of Loan Sharks and Bribers

Simultaneous operations were carried out against loan sharks and those committing bribery who victimized citizens by gaining unfair profits. While legal proceedings were initiated against twelve people who were found to be usurers, two suspects were sent to prison. Two of the eight suspects detained during the bribery operations were arrested and placed behind bars. Additionally, two fugitives with finalized prison sentences were caught by the security forces.

Thousands of Illegal Products Seized

In the smuggling leg of the operations, large-scale searches were carried out in the districts of Kepez, Muratpaşa and Alanya. Legal action was taken against nine suspects within the scope of the Anti-Smuggling Law No. 5607. As a result of the searches at the addresses, 10 thousand 840 smuggled macarons, 9 thousand 730 illegal drugs, 1667 packs of cigarettes, 240 liters of fake alcohol and 25 electronic cigarettes were seized.
