Parkinson's Training from the Metropolitan Municipality
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality organized an exercise and information program to facilitate daily life for Parkinson's patients within the scope of April 11 World Parkinson's Day.
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality organized a comprehensive training program for Parkinson's patients and their relatives on the occasion of April 11th, World Parkinson's Day. At the event held at Atatürk Antalya Sports and Fitness Centers (ASFİM), methods to improve the quality of life for patients were discussed.
Important Information from Experts
Within the scope of the program, Dr. Feride Ekimler Şahin Süslü gave a presentation on the course and management of the disease. Süslü stated that Parkinson's disease is generally seen in individuals over 65 years of age and emphasized that regular exercise, in addition to medical treatment, is vital for problems such as gait disorders and slowness of movement. ASFİM trainer Yeliz Durak stated that as a municipality, they continue to support patients in social and physical areas.
They Connect to Life Through Exercise
Following the training, participants were shown practical techniques to facilitate daily life. Participants Emine Demir and Hüseyin Uluışık thanked for the opportunities provided, stating that these services, offered free of charge, have increased their mobility and renewed their self-confidence. The Metropolitan Municipality does not leave Parkinson's patients alone with the special courses it conducts within ASFİM.
