President Akkuş Became the Voice of Alanya Driver
Key Party Alanya District Chairman Abdullah Akkuş reacted to the exorbitant parking fees at Antalya Airport and demanded that the tariffs be reduced.
Key Party Alanya District Chairman Abdullah Akkuş reacted harshly to the exorbitant parking and waiting fees applied to transfer vehicles, tourism services and commercial taxis at Antalya Airport. Mayor Akkuş stated that these burdens placed on the driver tradesmen during the busiest period of the tourism season are unacceptable, and emphasized that the exorbitant tariffs are a direct blow to Alanya tourism.
Astronomical Fines Make Tradesmen Victims
According to the official tariff applied at the airport, astronomical fees ranging from 1,000 TL to 5,000 TL are requested for waiting times after the first 15 minutes, and in cases exceeding one hour, vehicles are banned for a week, the Key Party management explained, explaining that this situation is incompatible with the realities of tourism. It was stated that it was unfair to penalize drivers due to factors such as flight delays and prolonged baggage procedures.
Rearrangement of Tariffs Requested
District Chairman Akkuş, who argued that tradesmen should be supported in this period when the transportation sector is crushed under cost increases, called on the authorities. In the statement, demands were clearly listed for the immediate reorganization of the transfer area fee tariff, the application of special discounted tariffs to vehicles engaged in tourism transportation, and the end to the victimization of driver tradesmen.
