Alanya Beaches Crowned with 79 Blue Flags
While 79 points on the coast of Alanya received the Blue Flag, the national success in environmental education was registered for the sixth time.
Blue Flag awards for 2026 were announced within the scope of the program carried out under the leadership of the International Environmental Education Foundation (FEE) and the coordination of the Turkish Environmental Education Foundation (TÜRÇEV). Following the season inspections, a total of 79 spots in Alanya district, including 6 public beaches, 68 facility beaches, 4 tourism boats and 1 marina, were awarded the Blue Flag. The points that have successfully passed many mandatory criteria such as bathing water quality, environmental management, security, disabled access and waste management have once again proven the district's environmentally friendly tourism identity in the international arena.
The Summit in Environmental Education Has Not Been Lost
Alanya Municipality was deemed worthy of an award for the sixth consecutive time within the scope of the 2025 Best Environmental Education and Awareness Activities Awards for its efforts to increase environmental awareness. The institution managed to be among the 9 award-winning local governments across Türkiye; It received great appreciation thanks to its sustainable tourism approach, environmental education for children and young people, coastal cleaning and recycling projects.
Third Place in Global Rankings Maintained
In the program carried out under the coordination of TÜRÇEV and implemented by FEE in 50 countries around the world, Turkey continued its success in 2026. According to the results announced from Copenhagen center, 580 beaches, 30 marinas, 18 tourism boats and 26 individual yachts across the country received Blue Flag. With this updated data, Türkiye maintained its title as the third country with the highest number of Blue Flag beaches in the world.
