Blue Flag Shift Started on Alanya Beaches

Within the scope of the Blue Flag program, which is meticulously implemented in 50 countries around the world, the inspection process on the coasts of Alanya has officially started. With the work carried out under the leadership of the International Environmental Education Foundation (FEE) and the coordination of the Turkey Environmental Education Foundation (TÜRÇEV), it is aimed to protect the tourism standards of the city. 2026 season inspections; It is carried out jointly by Alanya Municipality Climate Change and Zero Waste Directorate, which is the Local Blue Flag Responsible, TÜRÇEV Antalya Coordinator and the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change teams.

Criteria Are Being Examined On-Site

Inspection teams verify on-site the compliance of 68 resort beaches, 6 public beaches, Alanya Marina and 4 tourism boats with the guide criteria. During the inspections, operators are provided with technical information about the best beach practices, while the environmental management and life safety standards of the points that will fly the Blue Flag are checked one by one. It is emphasized that the program is of vital importance for the sustainability of regional tourism and its prestige in the world market.

Strict Inspection Schedule in Action

In accordance with the Blue Flag criteria, 33 different items are required at the beaches, such as bathing water analysis every 15 days, disabled facilities, lifeguard presence and waste separation. This environmental award system, which Turkey has been involved in since 1993, also brings corporate social responsibility requirements for tourism boats and marinas. This comprehensive inspection program, carried out throughout Alanya, is planned to be completed on May 15, 2026.
