Traditional Local Taste Festival Started at Antalya Airport

As part of the 5th Turkish Cuisine Week organized under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's wife Emine Erdoğan, a large-scale promotional program with the theme "Heritage at a Table" was held in Antalya. Governor Hulusi Şahin and his wife Ebru Şahin attended the event, which aims to promote traditional Turkish cuisine and local flavors worldwide and protect local culinary values.

A Powerful Showcase for Gastronomy Tourism

Governor Şahin, who made a speech at the program, stated that Turkish Cuisine Week offers an important opportunity to introduce the deep-rooted culture to the world. Emphasizing that airports, which are the transit points for millions of tourists, play a key role in this promotion, Şahin drew attention to the power of Turkish gastronomy in the international arena. It was stated that the themed restaurants opened at the airports served as cultural ambassadors in the city, which hosted 17.5 million foreign tourists last year, and that international achievements in the field of airport management contributed to this vision.

Sector Representatives Met at the Taste Festival

It was reminded that although the tourism sector around the world is going through difficult times, Turkish tourism maintains its strength and gastronomy is one of the flagships in tourism. The organization included visits to stands where local delicacies were exhibited; Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Ayhan Gök, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Şakir Fırat Erkal, AKTOB President Kaan Kaşif Kavaloğlu, TÜROFED President TÜROFED class="notranslate">Erkan Yağcı and Fraport TAV General Manager Deniz Varol and members of the gastronomy platform attended.
